Tips To Plan A School Trip

There are few things to consider when planning a school rip. Here are some areas you need to consider when planning a trip for the children.

Destination

This depend on the ages of the children participating in the trip. Usually they are all around the same age and therefore it is not hard to find a place that they all would like to visit. Depending on the age group of the students the travelling distance can be decided as well. For example, a camping trip or a field trip to a place that is miles and miles away from the school will be a cool experience for teens but it won’t always be a good trip for primary grades. Make it adventurous by not making it just educational but also making it an opportunity for the kids to have fun and interact.

Informing the Students

Informing the children about two or three weeks before the expected date of the trip will give them enough time to inform their parents and prepare for the trip and parents to inform the staff if their kid needs any special attention or if there are any special conditions that the teachers need to be aware of. This way you can also get a headcount of the number of students who will be participating and can then decide on the transport mode; whether to opt for a mini bus hire or have a fun ride on a train.

Accommodation

If you plan to travel a long distance and is unable to complete the trip in one day you will have to prepare the accommodation beforehand. This has to be done after the participants have confirmed their participation. You can browse for affordable places near your destination and get information on the services they offer. Some of the information you might need to provide the place you choose to stay include the number of students – girls and boys separately, number of parents and teachers, whether you plan on having meals at the same place and number of days and nights you will spend.

Be Prepared

It is always better to have a first aid kit by your side while travelling, with essentials such as bandage, gauze, painkillers, balms etc. When choosing the parents to chaperone try to give priority to those who are experienced in medicine or first aid. Arrange the matters with the travelling agency at least a week before the date of trip when you if you want to go for a charter bus hire Wollongong. Always keep a list of the names of the children and parents participating and their contact information with you as well. In order to avoid you being overwhelmed with all the rushing and responsibility start planning early and get the help of the other staff members and if possible the parents too.
